Chimera self-defense teaches verbal assertiveness skills and physical techniques to prevent and stop harassment and assault. This aspect of RCC's prevention programming spreads awareness and safety to the community, including youth, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable populations.

2010 Schedule
The registration fee for Chimera classes is $30 for public/$20 for students. If you register for both Chimera A & B the fee is $55 public/$35 students. Need-based scholarships are available.

Most classes are held at UW Gordon Commons (717 W. Johnson Street), Room C6. To get to room C6 in Gordon Commons use the pedestrian bridge over Lake Street (between Johnson St and Dayton St). Enter through the doors and C6 is the room to the right, as you enter the building.

All classes are six hours long. If it is a weekend class, there will be a half-hour lunch break. Weekday classes are divided into two classes. Both classes need to be attended.

We must receive your registration form and payment no later than one week before the first class date to guarantee your spot in the class.
  • Saturday, October 5th from 10am-4:30pm. Registration deadline is Wednesday, September 29th at 5pm (CHIMERA A).
